Hi! I'm Maria, founder of Funky Cheeky Monkeys and mum to two girls. Music has always been part of my life since a really young age, and the best memories I treasure are those of my family and I sharing a musical gathering.

What is Funky Cheeky Monkeys?

Funky Cheeky Monkeys offers an interactive and fun programme in which babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers learn through stimulating top-quality music sessions. 

Our Mission

We transform early childhood (ages 0-4) into an adventure of rhythm and fun, where music fuels brain development.

We offer parents a safe, stress-free space to strengthen family and social bonding through shared joy.

Not only are the children introduced to basic notions of music such as melody and rhythm but they also develop invaluable interpersonal skills including turn-taking and sharing whilst listening and participating actively.

Music is by far one of the best tools to connect, enrich or bond with babies or toddlers and on top of its advantages, it impacts positively on brain development as it paves the way to building everlasting linguistic abilities.


 Musical adventures 


Classes are carefully tailored to each stage of development from babies to pre-schoolers and children are encouraged to participate exploring different musical resources and props in the process of music making. 
The children will have a chance to explore with their senses different resources such as shakers, scarves, headbands and lots of props whilst using their bodies to foster their own physical development and learn actively.
Our Music & Movement sessions will enable children to keep building up skills such as listening, coordination, following specific instructions whilst improving their gross motor skills. At Funky Cheeky Monkeys we follow the EYFS requirements within each age stage in order to create enabling environments so that active learning and development takes place.


 Bilingual Musical Adventures

We all know that introducing a second language at an early stage has innumerable advantages for brain development.
Speaking and singing in more than one language not only will enhance their cognitive skills but it will give them cultural awareness whilst getting their brains ready for their educational success. Children develop quickly in the early years so introducing a second language through music and songs is by far the most effective way to set a bilingual journey.
These sessions also include music and movement to introduce basic notions of the Spanish language and build up their vocabulary in a fun and stimulating environment.


Grow Bilingüe

If you are looking for sessions with greater immersion in the Spanish language, this is the class for you.  This is an interactive and fun programme in which children acquire essential notions of the Spanish language through music, games and play.

Children will be immersed in a stimulating environment in which songs, music and games create a solid introduction to Spanish at an early stage.
